About Nancy

Nancy (born c. 1950, Englewood, NJ) earned a B.A. in Fine Art from Muskingum University, then studied painting at the Aegean School of Fine Arts in Paros, Greece, and at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel, Mexico. After a career in the hospitality business and while raising two children, she resumed her studies at Mass College of Art. She has studied with, and is currently inspired by, contemporary painters Peggi Kroll Roberts, Mark Daniel Nelson, Nancy Gruskin, Catherine Kehoe, and Tracey Everly, to name a few. She is a Copley Master of the Copley Society of Art in Boston, MA, and a faculty member of the North River Arts Society in Marshfield, MA. She teaches numerous online and live workshops throughout New England. She lives in Norwell, MA (winter) and Scituate, MA (summer) with her husband and yellow lab, Limoncello.

“My appreciation for visual arts has shifted toward a modern and contemporary aesthetic, and this is evident in my own creations. As I progress in my artistic journey, I concentrate more on the relationships between shape, value, color, and line instead of focusing solely on the subject. I aim to adopt a more expressive and bold approach, moving away from literal interpretations. I am constantly exploring and experimenting with new materials, techniques, and methods, and I find that each new discovery is an exhilarating step toward a refreshed perspective on the world.”
